2。5-3 starsSee I didn’t hate this book。 But I didn’t also love it。 It was pretty boring and I skimmed a good chunk of it。 I liked the characters just fine but I didn’t fell the book pull at my heart strings。 The “I love you” scene was so anti climatic and was rushed。 It felt so jarring reading the confession and I was like bitch no you don’t。 How long have you guys been together。And yes I do see the vicious similarities。 Like the grovel part。 That was just so vicious like

I enjoyed Twisted Love。 I like the complexity of Alex， he’s such a dark character with questionable morals so I wish the book was a bit more of a dark romance rather than a “forbidden best friend’s sister romance。” I was not expecting the twist with Ava’s nightmares/memories， which was a great plot twist。 The steam was pretty hot 🔥

Very entertaining。 I was not bored reading this book at all。 Actually， I couldn’t put it down。 I wanted to know what would happen next concerning the relationship with Alex and Ava and especially her night terrors。 The storyline was great and the characters were as well。 Alex is evil at heart and there’s nothing anyone can do about it。 He’s always looking for a way to have something over someone even though Ava has brought some light into his life。

I’m torn by this book。 On one hand， a lot of the plot was so far fetched I was kind of like “？？” （from the beginning I predicted that （view spoiler）[his uncle was evil… but I didn’t see it coming that her dad had tried to kill her and was a sociopath。 Or that he’s try to bluff and then reveal and then go back again - that felt very clumsy。 I also didn’t predict that her dad was the one Alex had been seeking revenge on and that he set up a fake friendship with her brother （hide spoiler）]） - and o I’m torn by this book。 On one hand， a lot of the plot was so far fetched I was kind of like “？？” （from the beginning I predicted that （view spoiler）[his uncle was evil… but I didn’t see it coming that her dad had tried to kill her and was a sociopath。 Or that he’s try to bluff and then reveal and then go back again - that felt very clumsy。 I also didn’t predict that her dad was the one Alex had been seeking revenge on and that he set up a fake friendship with her brother （hide spoiler）]） - and on the other hand I thought a lot of the relationship development was well done。This seems like a straight forward “brothers best friend” romance where the romance kicks in when the brother goes out of town and asks his best friend to watch over his sister。 But there’s darkness to the story， as Alex is a violent genius out for revenge on those who killed his parents and sister。 I didn’t buy into him immediately doing a 180 after the first time they sleep together （going from refusing to have face to face sex / kissing his partners to saying he was her boyfriend？） but I did enjoy their relationship because I’m a sucker for “he hates everyone but her” and “grumpy/sunshine”。 I also thought the groveling was top notch， though it’s mostly alluded to with the passage of time and not described。 （Did I want in depth descriptions of his daily groveling？ Hell yes。）TW PTSD， kidnapping， attempted murder 。。。more

Overall I thought this book was okay。 I was worried that this was going to be one of those classic love stories where once the main characters are in love， they live happily ever after。 I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this is not the case， and even after the morally grey main love interest messes up the MC does not go back。 That， for me， is what saved this book and why my rating was a 3 instead of a 2。5。
